Your existing water pump bolts to the front of the eV8 SBC in the stock position. It is powered by the fan belt and is used to cool the electric motor and controller. The cooling fluid is circulated through your existing radiator just as it did with your internal combustion engine.
The front shaft is the same diameter and length as found on the original SBC. Simply bolt on your vibration damper and pulley, and you can power the belt-driven accessories just like before the conversion.
The position, bolt arrangement and thread count of the engine mount bosses are identical to the original small block Chevy engine. Stock motor mounts are used. In addition to side mounts, front engine mount bosses are also included on the eV8 SBC for cars that use a front mount.
The rear flywheel flange has the same dimensions and bolt hole pattern as found on a SBC crankshaft. Your existing flywheel, or flex plate, bolts directly onto this flange enabling the use of your existing clutch and transmission.
The bell housing mounting surface retains the stock dimensions and bolt pattern. Your existing bell housing bolts directly to the eV8 SBC the same way it did to your gas-powered engine.
On certain vehicles these holes located on the front face of either head are used to mount accessories like an alternator or AC condenser.
